UP PRESS Releases Award-Winning Screenplay
Naglalayag tells the story of a May-December affair between a middle-aged judge and a young taxi driver. Brilliantly acted by Nora Aunor and Yul Servo, the couple’s story brings to light society’s perceptions of gender, age, and class. It is a story of love, departure, and acceptance, woven in a manner which, according to critic Danton Remoto, “melds almost effortlessly the conventions of Greek and Shakesperean tragedies, and the harshness of Philippine reality.”
Included in the book are still photos of the most memorable scenes that have made this film a resounding critical success. Naglalayag is published by the University of the Philippines Press and is available at Aeon Books in Katipunan, Popular Bookstore in T. Morato, Solidaridad, Powerbooks, National Book Store, Bound Bookshop, Fully Booked and at the University of the Philippine Press bookstores in UP Diliman, Baguio, Iloilo, and Davao. |
